Your local Lib Dem Focus team are Andrew England, Orla May and Paul Chandler.
Andrew England
Andrew is a chemistry teacher who has lived in Goldsmid ward for thirty years. He is married to Paula and they have three school-aged children - Jose, Ignacia and Belen.
Andrew's priorities on the council are to improve school facilities, the local environment, parks, children's playgrounds, public conveniences and to repair dangerous pavements.
Orla May
Orla was born in Brighton & Hove and lives in Goldsmid ward. She has a background in economics and works in financial regulation, as well as being a trustee of the local money advice charity St Luke's Advice Service.
Orla first stood as a council candidate in Goldsmid Ward in May 2019. As noted by Brighton and Hove News, working hard for the local area runs in the family: her father Jim May was elected to Brighton council forty years previously in May 1979.
Paul Chandler
Paul is a founder member of the Liberal Democrats. He has stood for Parliament on several occasions, has had experience as a local councillor for over ten years and as a governor of several schools.
Paul has run his own travel agency business and is currently involved in a property venture. He has also worked as a volunteer at the Citizen's Advice Bureau and in one of the city's soup kitchens.
