Andrew England has lived in Hove for over 30 years. He is married to Paula and has three children José, Ignacia and Belén. The two older children attend primary school in Brighton. He is the former Head of Science and still teaches Chemistry at Roedean School. He ran the school and Sussex Women's Cricket Association girls' cricket teams for ten years and he chaired the Junior England Women's Cricket selectors. Andrew is a lifelong Blackpool Football Club supporter and enthusiastically follows their many promotions and relegations.

Andrew is a strong advocate of European cooperation and wants us to remain in the Single Market. He believes the tourist industry and joint scientific research projects will be hit hard by us leaving the European Union. He supports the Save Our Schools group and has a particular interest in education. He would like to encourage the expansion of science and foreign language teaching in primary schools with additional funding being allocated specially for this. Andrew believes in involving young people politically from an early age and wants to lower the voting age to 16. Andrew ran as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the East Brighton by election last year and enjoyed the experience which he found was a steep learning curve in politics!
